Location : Location in the north-east of India, Tripura is surrounded on north, west and south by Bangladesh. To the east it borders with Mizoram and Assam.
Climate condition : As Tripura is hilly region, surrounded by hills from three sides, it has monsoonal climate temperature ranging from 10º C - 35º C.
Best time to visit : October - May.

The small hill region of Tripura is full of sightseeing places including its palaces, rock-cut carving, temples, wildlife sanctuaries and many of beautiful lakes and hills. Discovering it while being in ultimate peacefulness of the natural surrounding is a great joy for Eco lovers.

Places of Interests
Palaces : Built by the earlier maharajahs, many of the palaces are epitome of architectural excellence. Visit to famous palaces like Ujjayanta palace, Kunjaban palace and Malancha Nivas makes the royal bygone era come alive before the tourists.

Rock cut carvings & Temples : Rock cut carvings and stone images at Debatamura, Pilak and Unakoti, and famous temples like Mata Tripureswari Temple, Bhuveneswari Temple and fourteen goddess temple are must visited places while enjoying sightseeing tour of Tripura..

Wildlife sanctuaries :As two third of the state of Tripura are covered by forest, it has immense opportunity for Eco lovers. Two of its wildlife sanctuaries, Sepahijala wildlife sanctuary and Trishna wildlife sanctuary are home to different trees, flowers, birds and wild animals.

Lakes and hills : Many of the scenic lakes of Tripura like Dumboor, Rudrasagar and Kamalasagar, and beautiful hills like Jampui are present heaven like scenery, and are must explorable for Eco lovers who are willing to enjoy their vacation minus hustle-bustle of the people.

For Eco lovers touring Tripura, there is immense to offer as two third of the forest is abode to two wildlife sanctuaries, many of the lakes and hills, which put travellers at enough fascination of its natural beauty. Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary and Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary has more than 150 species of birds and many species of wild animals. A walk through its untouched forest make one enjoy the stark serenity of the park.

Tripura, the land of artificial and natural lakes, has many beautiful lakes like Dumboor, Rudrasagar and Kamalasagar, which with its natural beauty and complete tranquility are ideal place to hang out with one's closet companion. Likewise, Jampui hill is another beautiful place full of nature's view, as its orange garden, and raising and setting sun view invite nature lovers and romantic couples to devour the moment wholly to preserve it forever in their wonderful moment safe box.

Reaching there
By Air : Indian airlines has flight for Agartala (the capital of Tripura) from Guwahati and Kolkata. International travellers as well as domestic tourists need to reach Kolkata or Guwahati first in order to reach to Agartala. Both Guwahati and Kolkata are well connected to other cities of India.

By Rail : The nearest railway station from Tripura is Kumarghat on north east frontier railway (140 km). Kumaraghat is connected to Guwahati railway station via Lunding. Guwahati has very well rail link with other part of the country, so reaching Guwahati is the only and best way to go Tripura by rail.
By Road : Agartala has good road connection as national highway 54 exists at Agartala, and pass through Assam and Meghalaya. Shillong is approx 500 km from Tripura while Guwahati is 599 km drive from Tripura.
